How to Mount a 9" Fire Rescue Diamond Blade on a Battery-Powered Saw

Step 1: Turn Off the Saw and Remove the Battery

Before installing or replacing any diamond blade, always make sure the saw is completely powered off.

Remove the battery from the saw to prevent accidental startup during installation. Place the saw on a stable, flat surface with the blade facing upward or positioned for easy access.

Inspect the saw for any visible damage before proceeding.

Safety Tip: Always wear protective gloves when handling diamond blades. The cutting segments and blade edges can cause injury even when the blade is not rotating.

Step 2: Access the Blade and Remove the Existing Blade

Locate the blade guard and arbor assembly on your battery-powered saw.

If necessary, reposition the blade guard according to the manufacturer's instructions to gain access to the blade mounting hardware. Do not remove or disable the guard unless the manufacturer's blade-changing procedure specifically requires it.

Locate the spindle-lock button, if equipped, and follow your saw manufacturer's instructions to secure the spindle.

Using the appropriate wrench supplied with your saw, loosen and remove the arbor bolt or nut and outer blade flange.

Carefully remove the existing blade.

Important: Different saw manufacturers use different arbor assemblies, bolt configurations, and tightening directions. Always consult your specific saw's operator manual before removing or installing a blade.

Step 3: Inspect the New 9" Fire Rescue Diamond Blade

Before mounting your new blade, inspect it carefully.

Check for damaged diamond segments, cracks in the steel core, excessive wear, or other visible defects. Never install a damaged blade.

Verify that the blade is compatible with your saw's diameter, arbor size, operating speed, and intended cutting applications.

Our Global Diamond Pros 9" Fire Rescue Diamond Blade features:

  • Premium vacuum-brazed diamond cutting technology.

  • Solid steel core for durability and consistent cutting performance.

  • Cooling holes designed to help manage heat during cutting.

  • 5 mm diamond segment height.

  • Wet or dry cutting capability.

  • Multi-material cutting performance for fire rescue and demolition applications.

Make sure the blade's maximum rated RPM is equal to or greater than the saw's maximum spindle speed.

Important arbor compatibility

Our 9" Fire Rescue Blade is supplied with a 7/8" arbor and a 5/8" knockout bushing configuration. Verify the exact arbor requirements of your saw before installation. Only use manufacturer-approved bushings and mounting hardware.

Step 4: Install the New 9" Diamond Blade

Carefully position the new blade onto the saw's arbor.

Make sure the blade sits flat against the inner mounting flange and is properly centered.

If the blade has a directional arrow, ensure it matches the direction of rotation indicated on your saw.

Never force a blade onto an arbor that does not fit properly. An incorrect arbor fit can cause vibration, blade movement, or loss of control during operation.

Hold the blade in position while preparing to reinstall the outer mounting flange.

Step 5: Reinstall and Tighten the Blade Flange

Reinstall the outer flange and arbor bolt or nut, making sure all components are correctly positioned.

Engage the spindle lock, if equipped, and tighten the mounting hardware using the appropriate wrench.

Follow the saw manufacturer's specified tightening direction and torque requirements.

Do not overtighten the blade mounting hardware or use makeshift tools to secure the blade.

Once installed, check that the blade is seated evenly and does not wobble.

Installation Tip: Never use damaged, incorrect, or mismatched mounting flanges. Always use the hardware approved for your specific saw model.

Step 6: Perform a Final Safety Check

Before reinstalling the battery, complete a final inspection.

Make sure the blade is securely mounted, the blade guard is correctly positioned, and all tools have been removed from the saw.

With the battery still removed, carefully rotate the blade by hand where permitted by the manufacturer's instructions to verify that it moves freely without contacting the blade guard.

Reinstall the battery only after completing the inspection.

Move to a safe, clear area and perform a brief no-load test following your saw manufacturer's operating instructions.

Check for unusual vibration, wobbling, abnormal noise, or other signs of improper installation.

If anything appears incorrect, immediately shut down the saw, remove the battery, and inspect the blade mounting assembly before proceeding.

Never operate a saw with a damaged blade or missing safety components.
